The Viscosity of Bubbles Lab is a great introductory lab. It consists of three transparent plastic tubes containing colored fluids of three different viscosities. The bubbles in each tube rise at a constant speed depending on the type of fluid, the incline of the tube, and to some extent, the temperature. This set provides students with practice setting up experiments and graphing data. The students will discover that the slope of a distance vs. time graph is the speed of the moving object.
